Just for fun I looked at Grenada on google maps with "5 miles" set as the key. Then I looked at Salt Lake City with the same setting. For fun I took the Granada picture colored it purple and made it transparent, then I put it on the Utah map. Your world is the size of Salt Lake County! Have fun, cant wait to VISIT :-D.

we do decide most things very last minute. somehow life throws us lots of curveballs.

I applied to St. George University last year, when I started panicking that after trying for over 4 years, I may not be able to go back to the USA for a while. I needed to look for an alternative. A US medical institution, somewhere outside the US. SGU seemed to be the best of those. I applied and got in, but really thought it would just be a back up plan. I deferred, still hoping for my permanent residency ( which I did get this June finally!)

It wasn't until a few days after my mom died that we decided it would be best for me to start working right away,(rather then wait another year to be able to go to a med school in the States) better yet in a completely new environment. We will be here for 2 years and then 2 years in a hospital in the US. We love it here so far! Everyone is really nice, the island and the university are both beautiful. The weather is hot and humid- as this is a tiny island on the Caribbean, the water is more blue than anything I have ever seen (I know I know, I've not been to Hawaii Scott:)).

We are happy to report that we already made friends ( I know you're reading this), Thomas is a fellow Utah-n, who went to BYU and his lovely wife Alta ( whom we cannot wait to meet and play dice with finally) and son Krew are moving out soon.

I will try to blog recreationally from now on ( I will also try to work out, clean and brush up on biochemistry recreationally- now doesn't that just sound better??), so I will not have to stay up till 1 am on a Friday night to do 5 months of blogging in one night.

WE LOVE HUNGARY for so many reasons

Hanging out in Budapest- Put your head on my shoulder

We had loads of things to take care of in Budapest before we could leave, and we tried to make the traumatic days in my mom's empty apartment as cheerful as possible. We went to classical concerts to the Basilica, had REBER chocolate, and saw Paul Anka live in concert. We had more fun than we expected. Its not hard to have fun with Scott... or with Reber chocolate. or with Paul Anka....:)

Picture perfect BLED, Slovenia

Ever since Scott and I got married 5 and a half years ago, he had been telling me about the "most beautiful place on Earth" which he remembered from his childhood. And thats just what Bled turned out to be. Imagine a little town surrounded by The Alps. In the middle of the valley, a lake. In the middle of the lake, a tiny island, on the tiny island a church.

It was the 3 hottest days of the year. we opted for water.

Vienna and Prague

Since Marlee had never been to Europe, and since we never had a car to ourselves in Europe, nor did we ever spend this much time in Europe together, we decided to go on a little road trip! Scott had not been to Prague before and he lived in Vienna in the past, so those cities were definitely on our list to visit. It was very beautiful. but long hours in the car. Thank goodness for Scott's excellent driving skills, Marlee's great sense of humor and for paper maps. Marlee and I became extremely anti GPS on that trip...

Marlee Szabo in Budapest---- I don't belive it!

Right after Zsofi got home from the US, Marlee arrived to spend 11 lovely days with Scott and Zsofi. It was sooo fun to have her with us, and helped so much when Zsofi got really really sad. We went all over Budapest and made sure we showed her everything. well most things. umm. some things. worthwhile.

Zsofi a US PERMANENT RESIDENT

That is as of June 12, 2010. We all know this has been a rough ride and Scott and I are so glad its finally over. Next step is citizenship, but we don't talk about that for another 5 years or so...

Zsofi quickly flew out to Indiana, where she not only got the stamp in her passport ( yeah it doesn't show on the picture above, don't ask why i decided to attach a picture of my passport prior to stamp.... ummm maybe to prove a point that i have random documents stored on my desktop, i could have also included a SS card or drivers license I guess) but got to see her Szabo famly after 2 long years! And they of course spoiled me again! Then to make things even better, Zsofi got to see her favourite roommate on the planet, Erika, whom she hasn't seen FOR WAAAY TOO LONG. and got to meet Erika's lovely son Keegan ah I love you all so much!

Sadly there were still people she didn't get to see.... Utah and West Virginia were just way too far...xxx

Scott's last football match in England

Before Scott came to Hungary to be with my mom and I, he got to play with his team at work in Bristol for one last time! As a farewell gift, his friends on the team gave him money and insisted that he bought a US football kit. (which he did buy of course, photos of that will follow)

Luckily, as soon as he got to Hungary he got to join the team there in Urom and was back in the game :)
